January 28, 2018: Healthy Home Tips to Fight the Flu

The flu bug is something serious this year. Your hosts Duane Knickerbocker and Bill small introduce you to some of the steps to take to prevent germs and allergens from invading your home and impacting you or your family's health. Filtration is not the fix. It will help but be sure to listen to the guidance of Dr. Tom Hopkins as he walks you thru some of the precautions you can take to a healthier living environment. Yes, you know some: Eat right, sleep, cleanliness in the home and plenty of hand washing. Take some notes if you will, as the primary concern is your health and the ways a Brower home energy upgrade can impact your physical well being as well as the comfort of your living environment.

You'll also hear from a very satisfied homeowner who made the full energy upgrade, complete with small solar and full rebates from SMUD and PG&E. The story gets good when the evaluation of the differing proposals went from tens of thousands of dollars and 40+ solar panels to less than 30 panels and savings of tens of thousands of dollars. All because of the patience and the interest in doing it right and getting a complete home energy audit.
As an added bonus, if you're interested in getting a pamphlet on the steps for flu and allergy prevention, just give Brower Mechanical a call at 916-624-0808 or email us from the website, www.gosmallsolar.com. Stay healthy!

We all know. Listen as your host Duane Knickerbocker of Brower Mechanical and Bill Small address the "tomorrow" syndrome and hammer home why you don't want to wait unless you like being either really cold or uncomfortably hot. January 14, 2018: The Proactive Plan and Project Pipeline to lower utility bills!

Oh boy, do they go off today. Your hosts Duane Knickerbocker and Bill Small drill into the solar only sellers with demonstrating with data support, that failing to plan your home's energy upgrade is planning to fail...and fail big. Like thousands of extra dollars up front and an equal amount of money over time as well. Big house does not mean big solar and there are plenty of examples in the show about why. Did you know you can heat your home with solar? How about energy independence. Listen and you'll hear how one family whittled the energy cord down to a few fine strands. And the big story...don't be fooled by service scams. Learn how you can prevent being taken to the cleaners on scare tactic sales processes. The real life story could have been a $10,000 dollar mistake. Lastly, if you're not sure what "anyway money" is, you'll learn. It's all in the show today exclusively as a product from your friends at Brower Mechanical. For more information call 916-624-0808 or visit on line at www.gosmallsolar.com

January 7, 2018: Did holiday lighting give you hangover bills?

If your holiday lighting extravaganza left you with a utility bill hangover of Griswold proportions, your hosts, Duane Knickerbocker and Bill Small are happy to share some options to get things back in check. You don't want to go through the year worrying about the rising SMUD and PGE rates and especially not when the summer rolls around. But now, more importantly than anything, is to be sure you've got all your ducks in a row to insure your best plans are executed. Is the house right? Is the attic sealed tight? Don't let the utilities take a bite. Does it all affect your sight? OK, OK enough. The humor is trite. In any event, case studies and suggestions to prepare for the season ahead are what you'll hear today as well as a return of our CHERP home energy buddy, ol' Jack Frost. And with a little bit of chill still to come, he's the right guy to share his experience with reducing consumption before producing that energy. Reduce before you produce, we say. As always, you'll get more out of the show than you could ever expect. And with that will come questions, so be sure to get them answered by calling Brower Mechanical at 916-624-0808 or on line at www.gosmallsolar.com.

Listen in today as your two svelte co-hosts Duane Knickerbocker and Bill Small discuss the myriad of options one has to make regarding any of the home energy products. They can range from specifically colored insulation to a more contemporary solar panel. Surprisingly, looks DO matter for some homeowners when it comes to what goes on or into their homes. And when that is an item of demand, you can be sure the manufacturers come up with supply! Too often, however, you don't get the ability to see your energy efficiency improvement products in advance. You just assume they're good and go with it. Well, now you can see, touch, feel and hear how your products are going to be when they show up to your home. The Brower Mechanical Home Energy Exploratorium is a mini me of the average home shown with various types of products that you get to actually experience before you purchase. December 10, 2017: When a promise can't be broken

OK, it's an odd question in relationship to a home energy program but listen to find out how your hosts Duane Knickerbocker and Bill Small navigate some of the issues the industry is plagued with. How many times have you "felt" that what you were being told, or worse yet, being sold just didn't feel right? It happens in every industry and HVAC/SOLAR is no different. Trust is the most significant element of the process to confirm your investment. That's why when Duane speaks of a guaranteed return, he expects to see it in writing. When you do an energy retrofit to reduce your bill, what's that really mean? A "promise" of lower utility bills is easy to make. Putting that promise in writing as a guarantee takes a lot more confidence and knowledge to be able to commit to it. And would a commitment from a startup company or a commitment from a 30 year old company mean more to you? Easy call. There's so much more to what you'll learn in today's show but to get the tools to earn the commitment, give Brower Mechanical a call at 916-624-0808 or visit on line at www.gosmallsolar.com. Promise yourself you will!

December 3, 2017: Sniff, Sniff, Stink! What's that smell???

You turn the furnace on because there's finally a chill in the air and you're actually cold in the house. Then it comes, that burning stink pushing thru the heat ducts and in to your home. Ugh, that's awful! Don't worry, your hosts Duane Knickerbocker and Bill Small address what it is and why it's no big deal. And then, the conversation turns to the effects of these national disasters like hurricanes, floods and fires on your local utility. Yes, you are going to feel the impact in your pocketbook. Tune in to find out how and why and what you can do to minimize that impact with some very simple steps. The discussion then turns to how to best save on your home energy expense now that the year is coming to a close. The exclusive Clip Board Audit is the answer to begin the process of identifying your next step and the application of those findings to determine you greatest opportunity to both save and take advantage of rebates. Identifying what's best for you in your situation is the objective of every in-home analysis when you work with the professionals from Brower. November 26, 2017: Just like Goldilocks found, do you find your home feels “just right”?

Join your hosts, Duane Knickerbocker and Bill Small as they move the hot air around in a fashion that helps you say, it feels just right. The hot air in your home, that is, not the production studio! Today's show is about getting your home's heating and energy consumption "just right" for you and your family. Clearly, every home, every person, has what they would deem to be the ideal temperature inside but so often, the home cannot provide that temperature in every room 100% of the time. Today's show focuses on heating in the home with a discussion of the many options you have today to get it "just right". Gas, electric, even hybrid systems now give you the control to do what is best under the circumstances. When things go wrong, so many companies will say you need to replace your HVAC system but the reality is that if your system is less than 15 years old, it's likely a much less expensive repair vs a much more expensive replacement. It's always good to get a second opinion when it comes to a situation of repair vs replace. In many cases, the replacement is not necessary and there's still a good amount of time left with the existing equipment. This is the time of year these things really manifest themselves so don't let it happen without a good deal of input on your end, give Brower Mechanical a call today at 916-624-0808 or visit on line at www.gosmallsolar.com.
