Solar PV (photovoltaic) panels generate electricity for your home or business. There are many long-lasting benefits to solar electricity:
-
Generates clean, renewable energy for a cleaner environment
-
Reduces (or even eliminates) electricity bills
-
Qualifies for a federal tax credit and other solar incentives
-
Increases the value of your home or commercial property
-
Taps a limitless free power source
-
Avoids use of fossil fuels
-
Provides energy throughout the year, even in the winter
-
Can be paired with a solar battery for backup power
-
Can charge your electric vehicle for free!
California is the #1 state in the country for solar energy, and prices are lower than ever, making it a great time to install a solar system. Since 1998, the cost of a photovoltaic solar system has fallen every year, according to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
There are also a number of California solar incentives available that make solar even more affordable, including net metering, where your electric utility credits you for excess power your panels send back to the grid. Brower Mechanical makes every part of the solar installation process easy—we’re the Sacramento solar company homeowners trust!
Get More from Your Solar Panels with Solar Battery Installation
Solar batteries act as a safety net between your home and your utility company. They can keep your home running during outages and wildfire-related Public Safety Power Shutoffs, and they can help you avoid peak energy rates on your electric bill. Solar battery upgrades are made more affordable through SGIP incentives!
Get a 30% Federal Solar Tax Credit When You Install Solar Panels
One of the best solar incentives available in the United States is the federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), commonly called the federal solar tax credit. In 2022, this tax credit was extended by the Inflation Reduction Act. The tax credit allows home and business owners to reduce their federal tax liability by 30% of their total solar installation costs. Qualified expenses include labor, site preparation, and solar components. You can also use the federal solar tax credit for solar batteries. This tax credit only applies to purchased systems and can not be applied to leased solar systems.
A tax credit differs from a tax writeoff and is more valuable to the taxpayer. It is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in income taxes owed. The federal solar tax credit will be worth 30% through 2032 when it is scheduled to step down over several years before being eliminated for residential installations.
Brower’s Solar Installation Process
1. Talk to Our Solar Team over the Phone
Many California homeowners have already done their research and are looking for accurate solar quotes and specific information about availability and the installation process. With Brower, there are no pushy door-to-door sales tactics—the answers you need are just a phone call away.
We’ll ask some questions about your home’s past and future energy use (Are you thinking about buying an EV? Will you be upgrading your furnace to electric heat pumps? Any solar installer in CA worth their salt will take these factors into consideration when designing the right solar panel array for you) to get a better understanding of what you’ll need from your solar installation.
2. Get Your Solar Proposal via Email
After our call, we’ll put together a proposal for commercial or home solar system installation, including additional measures such as electrical panel upgrades, solar battery backup installation, and more. The proposal is sent right to your inbox so you’ll have the time you need to review.
3. Site Assessment
If everything looks good and you’re ready to move forward, we’ll send a solar technician out to conduct a site assessment, looking at the size, condition, and location of your roof to maximize your home’s solar potential.
