Benefits of Geothermal

There are numerous advantages to using geothermal energy to heat and cool your home:

  • Reduced reliance on fossil fuels
  • Tap a free and limitless source of energy
  • Save significant money on utility bills for many years
  • Provides both a heating and cooling solution
  • Tidy appearance with no outside components
  • Incentives lower the cost of ownership
  • Federal tax credit incentives

How Geothermal Systems Work

Geothermal systems are well suited for our Northern California climate, providing exceptional comfort all year. These innovative systems provide both a heating and cooling solution for your property. A geothermal system will save between 40 and 60 percent on heating and cooling energy costs.

Geothermal heat pumps transfer heat to and from the soil under your home or business, with a super-quiet pump. One big advantage of a geothermal system in Northern California is the absence of outdoor equipment.

These units are compact, and all the equipment fits inside a single cabinet. In heat mode, a geothermal system will produce heat at about 110 degrees. In cool mode, the system will provide air at roughly 55 degrees.

Brower Mechanical's Unique Expertise with Geothermal

When you desire the cutting edge technology in heating and cooling systems, you will have the opportunity to sit down with Jeff Brower and actually go over your specific project. Jeff will work with you for as long as it takes to create the end result you are after.

Every geothermal system is a one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art project and requires this sort of interaction between owner/contractor and builder. When you are done you will have a geothermal system that works like you want it to and creates the exact level of indoor comfort you seek.

Simple Installation Process

A geothermal heat pump system can be installed with minimal disruption to the yard, for new construction and existing homes alike. Our expert technicians use newer construction techniques that allow the underground piping to be installed with minimal disturbance to lawns and landscaping. At Brower Mechanical, we take great care to treat our clients as we would want to be treated and make the installation process effortless for homeowners.

Incentives Lower the Cost of a Geothermal System

Many utility companies offer substantial rebates and incentives for installing geothermal equipment. In addition, there is a federal tax credit for renewable energy installs, also known as the ITC, which is available for 30% of the qualified expenditures for a residential geothermal system. This tax credit was extended in August of 2022 with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and will remain at 30% until 2032. In 2033, the ITC will drop to 26% and then decrease to 22% in 2034.

A tax credit differs from a tax writeoff and is more valuable. It is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in income taxes owed and can be rolled over into the next tax year. Now is a great time to install a geothermal heat pump system and take advantage of the federal geothermal Investment Tax Credit!
